Course: HSC4713 - Planning and Evaluation in Health Education
Semester: Spring 2020
Instructor: Dr. Amber Emanuel
Project Grade: 135/135

I developed, implemented and evaluated a program in Union County that addressed the population's needs of stress relief resources. I selected Union County as my main population due to its lack of access to several resources, and because it is considered the unhealthiest county in Florida with high rates of stress and elevated numbers of mental health-related hospitalizations when compared to the Florida average (University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, 2019). Featured in the program are multiple sections including a needs assessment, a rationale, multiple health behavior theories, a community engagement plan, intervention strategies, program resources, and many others. This program also displays a flyer representing the program and what it offers to its participants.

Course: HSC4593 - HIV/AIDS Education
Semester: Fall 2020
Instructor: Dr. Sadie B. Sanders
Project Grade: 54/55
Group Members: Nayadeth Muniz, Dantona Leger, Franceline Amissant, Audrice Louis, Michelle Moye

This group project's main purpose is to support World AIDS Day (WAD), raise awareness of HIV/AIDS, and demonstrate international accord in the face of the pandemic. We created a research-based profile of Russia including its epidemiology, healthcare response, education/prevention efforts, government/political system, and many others. In addition, we also created a presentation that focused on the impact of HIV disease in Russia and an original HIV-related public service announcement that focused on HIV/AIDS awareness and stigma. Although we divided our tasks equally, some of the responsibilities that I focused on the most included the speaker's notes in the slides, research on specific HIV/AIDS information, the development of the public service announcement (PSA), and editing the references page.

Course: HSC3201 - Community and Environmental Health
Semester: Spring 2020
Professor: Dr. Julio Rodriguez
Grade: 149/150

Throughout the course, I learned key theories and concepts related to community and environmental health, including the identification of community resources and the understanding of local health issues. In this paper, I had the opportunity to apply these concepts to an important community health issue, high obesity rates in Union County, Florida. In this paper, I apply these newly learned concepts to explain how to enact change, what routes to take for community change, and identify some potential barriers that may disrupt the process or preferred outcome.
